Tilly Mills

Tilly started her career in furniture restoration in 2016. With a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Photography and a year working as an apprentice woodturner, she progressed into an apprenticeship in furniture restoration with the same company alongside John and Josh.

After the birth of her daughter in 2019, Tilly began working once again alongside John and Josh under their own company Wynn Griffiths and Tarr. She has a good eye for colour and form, is engaged and interested in all elements of the work, and continues to develop her skills in all aspects of furniture restoration. Tilly has a strong interest in the ethical side of furniture restoration and conservation, with that an approach that questions the assumptions behind treatments bringing clarity to decisions.

Josh Tarr

Josh Tarr has been working in furniture restoration and conservation since leaving school in 2001, progressing from apprentice to Master to Workshop Manager in previous employment. Josh now takes on the operations side of running the business and is most likely the person you will speak to if you call with an enquiry.

As Josh is the full-time partner within the business, he tends to manage large, complex workshop-based projects requiring daily input and overseeing. With a very strong aptitude in cabinet-making, Josh makes many of the new components needed for projects where doors, drawers and cornices, etc have been lost.  Josh handles everything from the restoration of severely damaged historic bookcases, to the repair and reupholstering of antique armchairs.
